Milne
Alumni February
Newsletter Dear
Milne Alumni and Supporters,
In this issue: * Thank You, John Murphy, '54! * Digital Files * Sad News THANK YOU, JOHN MURPHY, '54! Unbeknownst to most (if not all!) of you, John Murphy has been maintaining a copy of the Milne Alumni database for many, many years. In order to do so, he downloaded a free version of the personal information manager (PIM) that I use. Then, on the first of each month, I've sent him a backup file of the database. John has respectfully requested to step down from this role. If someone else would like to take over this responsibility, please let me know. "Chaos Free," the free version of my PIM, requires Windows 7/8/10/11 (Desktop App) and is 32-bit and 64-bit compatible. The size of the software is 11056 KB and, again, it is free. For further information, go to https://www.chaossoftware.com/products.aspx. Thanks, John, for your help with ensuring that there's an extra layer of protection beyond my backup methods. DIGITAL FILES Do you want to check out a particular yearbook? Read a Crimson and White newspaper? View sports trophies? I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that there's a wealth of information available at https://archives.albany.edu/web/selections/milne/ "The Milne School Alumni Digital Reformatting Project," a major Milne Alumni fundraising campaign, allowed the University at Albany to professionally "Create Preservation Masters and Full-Text Web Access for All Crimson & White and Bricks & Ivy Editions." SAD NEWS Please note that I rely upon a search for "Milne" at legacy.com and input from other alumni for this information, so if you become aware of someone who has passed away, please let me know. If a name is underlined, it represents a link to the obituary. Many obituaries are available free for a limited time only. Doris Schlamowitz, mother of Eric Schlamowitz, '72, and Heidi Schlamowitz, '75, passed away on January 30, 2025. ________________ Thanks to all of you for your interest in Milne Alumni activities.
