CLASS OF '67 ZOOM REUNION

From Sally Button White '67:

Our Milne class of '67 had a Zoom reunion on February 15th—with 25 classmates joining in from California, Texas, Florida, Chicago, Buffalo, Boston, Providence, Maine, and even Albany (and its environs). We reminisced about student teachers and SUNY professors, who went off campus for lunch, what we learned in home ec and shop (Bob Brand still has his personalized wooden pencil holder!), and a bit about what we've all been doing for the past 54 years. Amy Linter organized our group, with the aid of Dean Ellsworth. We hope to repeat our virtual reunion sometime or other and recommend the medium as an easy way to keep in touch, even during lockdowns.

Out of our class of 71, which has 64 surviving members, 27 classmates joined our Zoom reunion for a few minutes or for as long as an hour on February 15th.

Those who signed in (in no particular order): Amy Wallman, Dean Ellsworth, Art Cohen, Barry Press, Bill Wachsman, Bob Brand, Bob Linn, Bob Oppe, Bruce Korotkin, Carol Dillon, Carol Graham Altman, David Gellman, Diane Kingston, Dianne Herkowitz, Don Herres, Gwen Pritchard Lindquist, Jock Ford, John Margolis, Louis Rovelli, Mark Borlawsky, Nancy Hyman Stabler, Naomi Aronson, Ron Olinsky, Sally Button White, Steve Rider, and Susan Barr Black.

"JUDY" UPDATE!

A Milne alumna recently asked me whether I'm still living in Florida. The short answer is no, we moved back to the Albany area in 2013. So why did we spend just six years in Jacksonville?

When we made the decision to move south, our Albany-area daughter told us that she wasn't planning to have any children. One month after we moved (okay, you probably know what happened next!), she called to say that she was pregnant. For almost six years we either flew or drove from Jacksonville to Albany two or three times per year, and it didn't take long before we decided it would be easier to simply move back "home." (You were wrong, Thomas Wolfe, you can go home again!) We knew we would eventually move back to the Albany area when we got "older" but decided that "older" might mean that we would miss too much. So home we came!

In October 2020, we decided to move to Summit at Mill Hill, an independent-living apartment complex in Slingerlands, where we are thoroughly enjoying the sense of community. Following CDC guidelines regarding COVID, we are beginning to take advantage of the many amenities available. BTW, Coach Bob Lewis lives here, as does Ron Killelea, '56

We have two grandchildren living just five minutes from us, in addition to a granddaughter who is a sophomore at James Madison University in Virginia and three grandchildren by marriage living in New York City, where our son and his wife live and work. Having been fully vaccinated (with the Moderna vaccine—thank you, Bob Langer, '66!)—and based upon CDC recommendations, we finally had an opportunity to hug family members last week. My husband and I are looking forward to celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary in June. And now you know the rest of the story!
