DR. THEODORE H. FOSSIECK –
2009 MILNE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Evan
Felitte, whose grandfather graduated from Milne in 1950, will
receive a $500 2009 Milne School scholarship. Evan will be a
junior next year and will officially declare his major in the
Documentary Studies Program. Evan's interests are filmmaking,
photography, music, and writing. Evan also received this
scholarship in 2007 and 2008.
An incoming freshman, John Iseman, will receive a $500
scholarship. His father, uncle, and grandmother are all Milne
alumni. John is planning to be a wildlife biologist. He has been
very involved with Boy Scouts and is now an Eagle Scout. John is
also a member of his high school's National Honor
Society.
A Milne School Scholarship will be awarded to William
Vollmer, whose grandfather, David Vollmer, graduated from The
Milne School in 1946. In addition, William's grandmother
graduated from the New York State College for Teachers at Albany
and was a student chemistry teacher at The Milne
School.
Dr. Theodore H. Fossieck, principal of the Milne School from 1948
to 1972, established an annual scholarship to the University at
Albany for a student who is a descendent of a Milne School
graduate or faculty member. Applicants must fill out an
application and submit documentation that they are direct
descendents of a Milne School graduate or a Milne School faculty
member. Both incoming and present undergraduate students are
welcome to apply.
Congratulations to Evan, John, and William!

CLASS OF '59 50th REUNION
The Milne Class of 1959 held their 50th reunion in, of all
places, New Bern, North Carolina. Over the weekend of May 1st, 24
classmates, along with family and friends, enjoyed the atmosphere
of this quaint harbor town while renewing old acquaintances and
fond memories.
Many thanks to Sheila Burke McGarity and Nancy Jones Clausen for
their organizational efforts in making the reunion happen.
Barbara Kircher Fenimore assembled a great reunion book with bios
on all the attendees and notes on many others. She also took the
best group photos of the event. Max Streibel was responsible for
creating the Milne logo that graced our reunion mug. Myron LaMora
donated red "I survived" T-shirts. George Houston sent
out monthly issues of the Crimson and White and conducted
extensive research on our deceased classmates. Connie Evans
Finley donated a picture CD of our deceased classmates, as well
as an audio CD, with a '50s mix. Mike Ungerman was the tech
guru providing web support and audio/visual for the event. Many
other classmates contributed their time and efforts during the
reunion to make this a successful event.
The following links are to Mike Ungerman's Picasa web
album. Many class members contributed their digital photos to
this compilation. Additions and captioning with names are still
in progress, so check back over the next month for
updates.
