Alumni May Newsletter Dear Milne Alumni and Supporters, In this issue: * Digitization Project Update! * News: Igor Magier, '58 * News: Alice "Lisa" Wiltrout,'62 * Sad News DIGITIZATION PROJECT UPDATE! As of 04/18/14, our total is $13,257. As I mentioned last month, I have been advised that "the digitization vendors picked up the first set of books to be scanned. Should be on the internet by the end of summer." If you click here and then click on the donations link, you will see that there are many alumni who have not yet contributed to this important project. Please help us reach our goal so that we are able to digitize all available Crimson & White and Bricks & Ivy editions, which will enable us to enjoy full-text web access of many of our Milne yearbooks and/or newspapers via searchable files. If we, as Milne School Alumni, don't ensure that our memorabilia is preserved...who will? Please remember that the total necessary to complete this project is $25,000 (but, as with anything else, the price will rise as time passes)...so if you haven't yet donated or wish to increase your contribution, please consider doing so soon. Thank you very much to those who have already contributed. For further information, see https://www.albany.edu/~milne/Project.shtml. A list of donations is available at https://www.albany.edu/~milne/DigitizationDonations.pdf. If your donation does not yet appear on our list, please note that the University sends updates every two weeks...or so. NEWS: IGOR MAGIER, '58 "I have recent proof that Igor Magier, Class of '58, is unemployed and jobless, living in the Brooksville region of Florida. He has been described as somewhat tan, boundlessly content, and looking forward to the next educational episode of his life. His son, in Jacksonville, is becoming a Master Librarian and they may go to Trinity College in Dublin soon, unless they find a better library nearby. May allah grant all Milnites no moose in their gardens...." NEWS: ALICE "LISA" WILTROUT MOFFA, '62 The award recognized Lisa’s involvement in various Lions Club activities in the community, including her recent efforts to collect and organize Skaneateles Lions memorabilia and artifacts that are to be housed at the Creamery Museum. Lisa was presented with an engraved plague by Chuck Wallace, Skaneateles Lions Past District Governor. The Skaneateles Lion Club has donated $250 to the New York State and Bermuda Lions Foundation in the name of the honoree. Established in 1993, the Award honors Lions and non-Lions or organizations that have performed exemplary service to the Club, District or community and is the highest state service award presented by the organization.
