DIGITIZATION PROJECT UPDATE!

As of 05/15/14, our total remains at $13,257. The original estimate to complete this project was $25,000, but, as with anything else, the price will rise as time passes...so if you haven't yet donated or wish to increase your contribution, please consider doing so soon. Thank you very much to those who have already contributed. I have been advised that "the digitization vendors picked up the first set of books to be scanned. Should be on the internet by the end of summer."

If you click here and then click on the donations link, you will see that there are many alumni who have not yet contributed to this important project. Please help us reach our goal so that we are able to digitize all available Crimson & White and Bricks & Ivy editions, which will enable us to enjoy full-text web access of many of our Milne yearbooks and/or newspapers via searchable files. If we, as Milne School Alumni, don't ensure that our memorabilia is preserved...who will?

For further information, see https://www.albany.edu/~milne/Project.shtml. A list of donations is available at https://www.albany.edu/~milne/DigitizationDonations.pdf. If your donation does not yet appear on our list, please note that the University sends updates every two weeks...or so.

ROBERT LANGER, '66: CONNECTION TO JENNIFER ANISTON!

"Jennifer Aniston's company launches Spanx for the face"...and MIT scientist and Milne alumnus Robert Langer, '66, is part of this project! For the complete article, see http://tech.fortune.cnn.com/2014/05/15/jennifer-anistons-bioscience-startup/

ROSLYN JEFFERSON, '74, '75 (JUNIOR GRADUATE), RECOGNIZED

"ALBANY, N.Y., Feb. 5, 2014 — Roslyn Jefferson, Albany Medical Center’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) coordinator, was recognized for her community activism at the Albany Common Council's African-American History Month recognition ceremony Monday.

"An employee since 2008, Jefferson is active in numerous community groups and anti-violence initiatives, including SNUG and the Albany Peace Project. Jefferson was nominated by Council member Leah Golby.

"'Roslyn is not just a terrific neighbor — anyone on her block will tell you that,' Golby said. 'She is a tremendous member of our community, actively engaged in promoting the civic vitality of our neighborhood and city.'

"As EAP coordinator, Jefferson provides support and a caring ear for employees undergoing personal and professional challenges, as well as referrals to other agencies that can help."

See http://www.amc.edu/pr/PressRelease/02_07_14_R.html for the entire article. Congratulations, Roslyn!
