Alumni August Newsletter Dear Milne Alumni and Supporters, In this issue: * Class of 1971 Invitation to All Alumni * Mini-Reunions * Sad News CLASS OF 1971 INVITATION TO ALL ALUMNI From Mary Welch, '71: "The Milne Class of 1971 is having our 45th reunion the last weekend in September. We would like to invite all interested Milne people to join us at our Friday-night event. Here is the information to invite you to a 'Milne Night' with our class: "9/23, Friday night, 7-10:30 p.m. Welcome! We will be meeting at Swifty’s Restaurant, 95 Everett Road, Albany, NY 12212 (518) 472-0522. (The restaurant is open until 11 p.m. on Friday night.) "Meet in the front section of the restaurant in the bar area. Get yourself a drink and and join your friends to get a table in the back for food and continued conversation. This is a nice place where you can dress in comfortable clothes. I believe you will have a good time there, as we did in the same location five years ago. We had a good number of attendees at that time, and we look forward to having you join us at this year's Friday-night event." MINI-REUNIONS I would again like to encourage classes to hold mini-reunions whenever it's convenient. Members of the Class of '57 met for lunch on August 10th, and they were nice enough to include me, a lowly underclassman from the Class of '61. If you're on Facebook and a member of the Milne School Alumni Facebook group, there's a photo here. If you're not a member of our Facebook group and would like to join, please let me know. SAD NEWS Please note that I rely upon the Albany Times Union and input from other alumni for this information, so if you become aware of someone who has passed away, please let me know. If a name is underlined, it represents a link to the obituary. Many obituaries are available free for a limited time only. Dr. Carol JACOBS Gross, '46, passed away on March 21, 2016. Carol was the sister of Eleanor JACOBS Goldman, '50. Jerrine KANE Osterhout, '55, passed away on July 14, 2016. Harriett "Ann" McFARLAND Sperry, '53, passed away on August 10, 2016. She was the sister of the late Bruce Newton McFARLAND, '65. Thanks to all of you for your interest in Milne Alumni activities.
