In this issue: * Class of 1964 60th-Year Reunion * Class of 1974 50th-Year Reunion * Happy "Very Special" Birthday to Leila SONTZ Lipman * Barbara Palma Recognition * Sad News CLASS OF 1964 60th-YEAR REUNION From Martha LOWDER Kimball: The Class of 1964 will have a 60th-year reunion from Tuesday, September 17, through Thursday, September 19. It will include dinner at BJs on Wolf Road at 5 p.m. on Tuesday (we are sitting together but ordering separately); a Capitol tour on Wednesday morning, time TBA; a state museum visit on Wednesday morning at about 10:15 (no costs involved); a complimentary light buffet plus wine, beer, and dessert at the Homewood Suites, Albany, at 5 p.m. Wednesday evening; and/or lunch and snacks at the summer home of the Blabey family on Thompson's Lake in the Helderbergs starting at 11 and ending by late afternoon. Milne alumni from other classes are invited to join us on a boat tour on Wednesday afternoon on the Dutch Apple (arrival at the dock at 12:30 p.m., departure for a 90-minute cruise at 1 p.m.). Please contact Martha for details. Individuals will be making their own reservations on the Dutch Apple website. At the moment there is plenty of room for more people. It's rain or shine, no cancellation. CLASS OF 1974 50th-YEAR REUNION From Ellen SAX: The Class of 1974 is celebrating its 50th-year reunion on September 28th. For more information, please contact Ellen Sax. In addition, the Class of 1974 would like to invite all Milne classes to join us at Chats on Friday September 27th. Chats is located at the Wolf Road Marriott in Albany. We are meeting at 7:30 will have a cash bar. We hope members from other classes will join us! HAPPY "VERY SPECIAL" BIRTHDAY TO LEILA (SONTZ) LIPMAN Leila SONTZ Lipman celebrated her 100th birthday on July 3rd with family and friends. Leila was born in Albany to Anne and Myer Sontz and has lived in Albany her whole life. She is a graduate of The Milne School and NYS State Teachers College, where she majored in English. Her children are: Paul, '69; Richard, '70; and Lori, '77 (non-grad). For a photo and further information, click here. BARBARA PALMA RECOGNITION Congratulations to Barbara Palma for the recognition she has received. "UAlbany's Palma paved the way for Team USA's distance runners!" Annabel PAGE Abrams, '58, passed away on May 16, 2024. There was no published obituary. Patricia SCOONS Hotaling, '58, passed away on July 25, 2024. William Schwartz, husband of Elaine Wieczorek, passed away on July 27, 2024. Scott Kerrington O'Neil, '73, passed away on July 28, 2024. He was the brother of Melissa Ann O'NEIL Macri, '75, and the late Whitney O'Neil, a member of the Class of '71. John Henkes, '49, passed away on July 30, 2024. Please note that I rely upon a search for "Milne" at legacy.com and input from other alumni for this information, so if you become aware of someone who has passed away, please let me know.
