DIGITIZATION PROJECT UPDATE!

As of today, our total is $14,337. We're getting there! Please keep our yearbook and newspaper digitization project in mind when you are considering donations, whether you're making the contribution "just because you care" or in honor of or in memory of a family member, friend, or classmate. If you would like me to send an acknowledgement to someone (in addition to the acknowledgement you receive from the University), I would be happy to do so. See https://www.albany.edu/~milne/Project.shtml for information. Thanks!

If you click here and then click on the donations link, you will see that although many alumni have donated to this important project, we still need donations, large or small, from others. Please help us reach our goal so that we are able to digitize all available Crimson & White and Bricks & Ivy editions, which will enable us to enjoy full-text web access of our Milne yearbooks and/or newspapers via searchable files. If we, as Milne School Alumni, don't ensure that our memorabilia is preserved...who will?

For further information, see https://www.albany.edu/~milne/Project.shtml. A list of donations is available at https://www.albany.edu/~milne/DigitizationDonations.pdf. If your donation does not yet appear on our list, please note that the University sends updates every two weeks...or so.

NEW BOOK BY PATIENCE CINCOTTI MASON, '61

From Patience: "Bob and I have published an ABC book, Woodland Litter Critters ABC. You can page through it at http://www.patiencepress.com/patience press/Critters.html. We are hoping some of you grandparents or great-grandparents will be inspired to buy one for someone small."

You can read reviews and see the actual pages if you access the above link. I have already ordered a copy of this adorable book for our three-year-old granddaughter.

HAPPY RETIREMENT TO UALBANY ARCHIVIST, GEOFF WILLIAMS!

Best wishes to Geoff Williams, the UAlbany Archivist, on his recent retirement. Geoff has been a great help to Milne School Alumni in providing assistance with more than I can remember! Initially he helped us find the names of alumni from old class lists, yearbooks, and graduation programs. In addition, he has provided us with various aspects of Milne's history; assisted us with tours of Milne; provided materials for our all-school reunions; and advocated for us when we've needed support regarding the Lithgow murals, our digitization project, and many other issues. He will be missed by Milne Alumni...but we've been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to profit by his expertise and his support. Geoff (I hope you're reading this!), thank you for all your assistance...and I hope you have a long and enjoyable retirement!

Geoff is a member of the Milne School Hall of Fame, and his bio is available here.

SAD NEWS

Please note that I rely upon the Albany Times Union and input from other alumni for this information, so if you become aware of someone who has passed away, please let me know. If a name is underlined, it represents a link to the obituary. Many obituaries are available free for a limited time only.

Patricia Kercull, '61 (Milne attendee and Shaker graduate), passed away in May 2011, according to her brother, Robert Kercull, '57.

Elizabeth Josephine Laden-Brazil, mother of Greg Laden, '76 (non-grad) passed away on September 12, 2014.

Thanks to all of you for your interest in Milne Alumni activities.
