NEW MILNE SCHOOL ALUMNI YAHOO! GROUP
I
have set up a new Milne School Alumni Yahoo! Group ("MilneSchoolAlumni")
that will be used only to notify Milne alumni of important
alumni events and/or news. Be assured that I will be sending very few
emails to this group.
The Milne School Alumni Group is a private group consisting of Milne
School alumni who are interested in occasionally receiving notification
of important Milne Alumni news or events. It allows the moderator (currently
yours truly) to send messages to all alumni at once, something that
is more difficult to accomplish using regular email programs because
they generally limit the number of recipients per email message.
As with this Newsletter
group, only the moderator will be able to post messages to the Milne
School Alumni Group; therefore, you will not be receiving a lot of email.
If you choose to reply to messages posted to the Milne School Alumni
Group, only the moderator will receive your response.
Your Class Contact will retain responsibility for updating you with
respect to your Class activities. The Milne School Alumni Group will
be used solely to provide information of interest to all alumni.
I have already added approximately half
the email addresses in the Milne Alumni database to this new group.
However, I am able to add only 100 names per day, so I hope to have
everyone added within the next several days.
Once I have added all the email addresses, I will send an email to group
members to determine how many "bad" email addresses are in
the database, to welcome alumni to the group, and to "advertise"
this newsletter. Many alumni are not aware of its existence.
MILNE BASEBALL UNIFORM
Jiggs Englander, '57, wore a Milne baseball
uniform to his 50th reunion. When he was invited to and attended the
Class of 1958's 50th reunion, Jiggs gave the uniform to Brud Snyder
with the explanation that he hopes that the uniform will be passed down
through the classes and make it to the last class, the Class of '77,
at which time it will be donated to the Milne Archives.
