CLASS OF 1964 60th-YEAR REUNION

From Mark Lewis: "Around 25 classmates and spouses descended on Albany between September 17 and 19 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Class of 1964's graduation from Milne. Our first meeting on Tuesday night was at BJ's, where, over the din of blaring music and conversations of other patrons, we shouted our hellos to each other. Of course there were many hugs. The main feature of the night was the question, 'Who is that guy sitting at the other table?'

"The next morning started with a tour of the Capitol arranged by Dede (Smith) Morrissey. We saw the Million Dollar Staircase and the posh Senate Chamber. Then it was off for an afternoon on the Hudson aboard a Dutch Apple Cruise. That night Homewood Suites, our host, provided a very nice spread for dinner. Once again, conversation ensued, both about the days of yore and our current comings and goings. We FaceTimed with Jane (Mayersohn) Redmond, who lives in Hawaii and was unable to attend in person.

"Thursday, Richard and Ann Blabey once again opened their house on Thompson's Lake for our final get-together. After taking a few moments to remember our classmates who are no longer living among us, we sang the Alma Mater. If anyone forgot the words (is that really possible?), Chuck Eson provided copies of the lyrics. Stan Lockwood procured the food we had ordered, and Laurie (Reiner) Jastremski brought some amazing pies for dessert. Highlights of the day's discussions were various pranks we played on student teachers and the realization that we received an excellent education in a unique setting. Interestingly, there was a strong consensus that the most important course we ever took was typing! At the end of the gathering there were more hugs and, yes, a few kisses as well!

"Amazingly, we never ran out of things to talk about and stayed away from divisive national political topics. Special thanks to Dede and Martha (Lowder) Kimball for all the hard work they did in preparing this very special time. We are already considering meeting again in two years for a joint 80th birthday celebration.

"Classmates participating were (maiden names): Michael Benedict, Richard Blabey, Bernie Bryan, Nancy Button, Chuck Eson, Greg Hatt, Dave Kermani, Sandra Levitt, Mark Lewis, Stan Lockwood, Martha Lowder, Margery Linn, Jeff Martin, Laurie Reiner, Bill Sheldon, Pete Slocum, Dede Smith, Sue Tafler, and Bob Valenti."
