Milne Alumni November Newsletter Dear Classmates & Milne Alumni, It has been interesting to me to see all the family names repeated throughout the class years at Milne. The four families that have the most brothers and sisters so far are the Grahams (6), the Contompasis (5), the Leues (4), and the Millers (4). These are the larger families that I recognize; perhaps you know of others. If you do, please let me know. I know there are still names that could be added to this list, especially because it includes names of classmates that did not graduate with the class. I am looking for the full name of each classmate if possible. It is helpful when using search websites to have the middle name or initial. I have also checked some of the people reported to be deceased at the Social Security Death Index database, and at the Albany Times Union obituary notice archives. I have been helping class contacts with searches for missing classmates, and while some of the missing remain, we have found other long lost friends. I understand the murals in the old Milne library have all been restored, thanks to the efforts of the University, Milne project members, and those that have contributed to its expenses. If you haven't seen them lately, they are well worth a visit. Restoration work on Page Hall is being planned by the University, and the old Milne art room, now called Page Lounge, has been completed. We have an agreement with the University to add a Milne webpage to their website, but it is only in the early stages. I expect the webpage to have links to class year websites already in existance and those set up in the future. This will also have contact links to Milne Alumni representatives and other projects planned or in process. If you have any suggestions or would like to participate in any of these Milne-related efforts, please contact me. The Milne Directory final draft will be forwarded to the University archives with specific qualifications as to its use. At present, the list below would print out at 24 pages. Next month there will be more news and the larger Directory in the December Milne Alumni newsletter. Thanks for all the help with names and information, and your responses. Best wishes, |
