CLASS OF 1974 60th-YEAR REUNION

The Class of 1974 held its 50th-year reunion on Sept 27th and 28th. It was great to see 40% of our class in attendance! Our weekend started with a gathering at Chats at the Marriott Hotel. Classmates traveled from near and far (Alaska, California, Florida, to name a few states), and it was great to see some classmates after 50 years! We were also thrilled to see alumni from years before and after ours stop by.

The next morning, thanks to Luke Ramsey at UAlbany, we had a tour of all the Milne buildings. Julie Novkov, the Dean of Rockefeller College, welcomed us, providing an overview of the utilization of the buildings and the activities of the students. Not only did we visit the gym and locker rooms (yes, the mirror is still in the girls' locker room!) but we saw the renovated Milne building, classrooms in Richardson, and the Dewey Library.

Saturday night we gathered at Duo at the Dunes (Italian-American Club). We had lots of time to catch up, and then Mary Ann (Aronowitz) Cooper tested us about our knowledge of our classmates' activities and experiences for the past 50 years.

It was a wonderful weekend and difficult to say good-bye. We had so much fun that we are now planning a gathering to celebrate our 70th birthdays in 2026, an idea stolen from the Class of 1973!

CONGRATULATIONS TO PETER GREEN, '72

Congratulations to Sportime Schenectady’s tennis coach, Peter Green, '72, who was nominated to serve as the Regional Council Director, Northern Region, on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Eastern Board of Directors. The USTA is the national governing body for tennis in the United States. A not-for-profit organization with more than 700,000 members, it invests 100% of its proceeds to promote and develop the growth of tennis, from the grass-roots to the professional levels. The association was created to standardize rules and regulations and to promote and develop the growth of tennis in the United States.

NEWEST HALL OF FAME MEMBER: PEGGY BULGER, '68

Our newest inductee to the Milne School Hall of Fame is Margaret Anne “Peggy” Bulger, Ph.D., for her research and work in the field of folklore preservation and education. Thank you to Ellen Manning, '68, for this nomination. Peggy is recognized as pioneer in the field, particularly as it relates to southern states’ culture. See this new entry on our Hall of Fame page. Congratulations, Peggy!
