WITH GREAT PRIDE...FROM JUDY AND STU MADNICK From Judy Madnick, '61: Our son, The Honorable Seth M. Marnin, has been awarded the 2025 University at Albany Alumni Association Cochrane Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and the positive impact they have on so many lives. From the Excellence Awards webpage: "Judge Marnin is the first transgender judge in the State of New York and the first transgender man on the bench anywhere in the United States. Seth has been an advocate, leader and role model in all aspects of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Judge Marnin has spoken nationally and internationally on LGBTQ issues, hate crime laws, discrimination, civil rights, religious liberty, the First Amendment and academic freedom. He co-authored friend-of-the-court briefs in many cases brought before the U. S. Supreme Court and appellate court around the country." Paul Galib, husband of Mary Carol TOUGHER Galib, '62, passed away on November 4, 2024. Robert Killough, '58, passed away on November 6, 2024. He was predeceased by this sister, Mary KILLOUGH Thieringer, '56. Marian Rider, mother-in-law of Patti SANTEN Rider, '72, passed away on November 25, 2024. Robert D. Albert, Jr., '53, passed away on November 29, 2024. Howard Joseph Werner, '58, passed away on December 1, 2024.
