Professor Lahiri Recognized as Journal of Econometrics Fellow
Distinguished Professor Kajal Lahiri has been recognized as Fellow of Journal of Econometrics. Professor Lahiri, named a 2023 Fellow of Journal of Econometrics, was honored by the Journal along with other newly inducted Fellows.
Professor Takayama Receives Drescher Award
Professor Haruka Takayama has been selected as a recipient of the 2024 Dr. Nuala McGann Drescher Diversity and Inclusion Leave Program.
2023 Pong S. Lee Awardees Announced
In recognition of outstanding student research, the Economics Department has awarded the Pong S. Lee Award to Zhendong Li for his third-year paper, "Forecasting Economic Time Series in Presence of Weak Factors: Multiple Supervised Learning-Based Approach."
Ayden Johnson Receives Undergraduate Research Award
Johnson has been selected as a Fall 2023 Undergraduate Research Award recipient under the supervision of Professor Pinka Chatterji for research on the observed decline in disability applications in some states during the COVID-19 pandemic.
NextGenPop Works To Expand the Fields of Demography and Population Science
Undergraduate students from across the country meet for an intensive two-week program on population composition and changes, focusing on issues including race and income inequalities, health disparities and immigration.
Former Faculty Selected as 2023 Person of Cultural Merit
Professor Hiroshi Yoshikawa was selected as a 2023 Person of Cultural Merit (文化功労者, bunka kōrōsha). The Cultural Merit Award is a prestigious honor bestowed by the Japanese government to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Japanese culture in various fields such as literature, arts, academia, and sports.
