The Gender & Sexuality Concerns Director (GSCD) for Student Association (SA) is a student appointed position by the Student Association President Elect. The GSCD is the voice of students within SA and with UAlbany Administrators across campus on issues of equity & inclusion across Gender & Sexual Identity. They also host a variety of programs for the general empowerment and education of the University at Albany student body. Check out the Events tab for more info.
UAlbany Pride Alliance
The UAlbany Pride Alliance, the Lesbian, gay, Bisexual, Transgender Queer and Allied students of the University at Albany, was formed in 1970 and is one of the longest running student clubs on campus. The purpose is to come together as a community and create a safe space for all students. Students hold weekly meetings and small programs for members as well as large events such as National Coming Out Week, and Transgender Day of Remembrance. We also help our members to attend several conferences annually. More information about the UAlbany Pride Alliance can be found at MyInvolvement.org.
Shades of our Unified Liberation (SOUL)
Rainbow S.O.U.L, is a multicultural organization that creates a welcoming atmosphere for people of color across the gender and sexuality spectrum through the use of meetings, forums, guest speakers, debates, movies and social events. The purpose of this group is to empower Queer People of Color (QPOC) by connecting and building power to create change on campus and in our communities.

Trans*Action is a student-led organization at the University at Albany dedicated to the support, networking,education and social advocacy concerning trans* issues for those who are trans* or non-conforming, their allies, and the greater UA community.

Gamma Rho Lambda
Gamma Rho Lambda National Sorority is an all-inclusive woman’s social sorority exemplifying the qualities of tolerance, diversity, unity, and trust, which provides a network of assistance in the areas of scholastic guidance, emotional support, and community service while ultimately developing the lifelong bonds of sisterhood. Gamma Rho Lambda (GRL) National Sorority is dedicated to providing a social support system for young college students. GRL has been referred to as the first national lesbian sorority, however they strive to be inclusive of all members, whether they identify as lesbian, bisexual, ally, transgender, questioning, straight, or with no label.
