Professional Interests
Vivian has 10+ years of experience working with college students and is passionate about individual and systems-level approaches to student mental health and well-being. She has also had training and experience working with veterans, individuals coping with chronic medical illnesses, couples and families, and those experiencing end-of-life and bereavement issues. Her clinical interests also include mindfulness, health psychology, and multicultural and diversity issues.
Approach to Therapy
In her work with clients, Vivian believes in developing a collaborative relationship to identify clients’ strengths and needs. She draws from humanistic, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral approaches in therapy, with appreciation for developmental and contextual factors, including the impact of intersecting identities, cultural experiences, and systems of oppression.
Approach to Wellness
Vivian enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. She has been an avid supporter of the local performing arts scene, and appreciates many forms of artistic expression including through music, art, crafting, cooking, dance, and theatre.
