Smart UI Overview

Although it looks somewhat different from the traditional, now called "Classic View" interface we've been using, the features are basically the same.

The Edit toolbar

In Edit mode, a toolbar is displayed with the following actions for the current page. These function in the same ways as they had in the previous version.

Edit page properties

Edit page keywords

Edit linking and appearance schedule

Disconnect page

Publish page

Delete page

The vertical toolbar

You'll likely use the vertical toolbar less than the horizontal toolbar show above. You might use the little home icon to get back to your start page. Also the Edit icon, which is little pencil, is something you'll use as well.

		The top icon is the home icon. The "homepage" is your system homepage in the OpenText RedDot System. In version 16, your system homepage is a good place to go if you want to access links that to pages you have recently worked on.
		The second icon is the SmartEdit icon. This is the icon to use if you want to go back to your Start page, which is often the homepage of the website that you work on.
		The third icon is the SmartTree icon. This is only used by OpenText RedDot administrators.
		The forth icon is is the Asset Manager icon. This will give you access to your documents and images.
		The bottom icon is the Server Manager icon that is used by administrators.
