Hi! I'm Ian Walter, and I'm currently an Undergraduate Researcher in the SINE Lab. I have always enjoyed tinkering with electronics and computers, and research just felt like a natural (& much more advanced) extension of that. I am currently pursuing my bachelor's in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a concentration in Electronics.
My research is currently focused on using Machine Learning in Visible Light Communication (VLC) systems. In addition, I am helping the lab set up and start using modern collaboration tools such as GitHub and Overleaf.
May 2019: My paper, "Deep Learning Based Optical Camera Communications", has been accepted to be published in the OSA Advanced Photonics Congress (APC).
Jan 2019: I joined the SINE Lab.
Aug 2019: Presented my paper, "Deep Learning Based Optical Camera Communications", in the OSA Advanced Photonics Congress (APC) in Millbrae, California.
