Bridget Collins
Dr. Bridget Collins joined the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security in 2022 after 6 years at the University Libraries. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in History from the University of Vermont, a masters degree in History from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and a doctorate of philosophy in the History of Science, Medicine and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Collins has served on the faculty senate as a senator and on the University Planning and Policy Council and the University Life Council subcommittees. She is a sustainability coordinator and an active member of the Sustainability Committee, for which she received a Terra Award in 2018. Collins also teaches a First Year Experience courses every semester.
Outside of work, she has been active in the Albany Ultimate Disc Association, proudly spearheading and writing the organization's gender equity policy during her tenure as a board member. She is also an aspiring Adirondack 46er with 35 of the 46 High Peaks already climbed.
