Upsorn Praphamontripong
Upsorn Praphamontripong is a Visiting Associate Professor (Instructional) in the Department of Computer Science, University at Albany. Before she joined the University at Albany in the Fall of 2024, Praphamontripong was an Associate Professor (Academic General Faculty, teaching track) at the Department of Computer Science, University of Virginia. She received a PhD in Information Technology from George Mason University in 2017. She joined the University of Virginia in 2016 and received the University of Virginia All-University Teaching Award in 2020.
At the University of Virginia, she chaired the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (Computer Science Department) and was a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Directors (School of Engineering and Applied Science), September 2020 – August 2023. Praphamontripong served on the Software Engineering curriculum subcommittee. Her research interests include software engineering, software testing and maintenance, software usability, software reliability and performance analysis, and computer science education. She also focuses on computer science pedagogical practices and designs that encourage lifelong learning and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
