About the UAC
UAC has responsibility for implementing the conduct of the University’s undergraduate educational program. We review all new undergraduate academic program proposals and all proposals that would affect the continuation of undergraduate programs. In addition, we review all assessments of undergraduate academic programs. UAC establishes such undergraduate academic regulations as it deems necessary; formulates policies for independent study and internship programs; insures and reviews procedures for individual student academic grievance; and establishes criteria for determining undergraduate academic standing, probation, and dismissal, undergraduate academic honors, undergraduate admissions policy, and undergraduate graduation requirements and standards. Subcommittees

This Committee will establish criteria for the admission of undergraduate students and serve as the appellate body for reviewing such decisions. In addition, the Committee will develop and review academic standards and regulations including matters such as classification and status, grading, retention, program registration and course load Appellate Subcommittee on Academic Standing
This Committee will evaluate existing undergraduate programs and review proposed additions to the undergraduate educational composition. It will develop and review academic standards and regulations pertaining to the dean’s list and graduation with honors requirements. The Committee will also be responsible for adjudicating all appeals by students for denial of honors.
This Committee is tasked with reviewing existing and proposed courses included in the General Education Program. They will also serve as an appellate body with regard to decisions made by the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education on waivers and/or substitutions.
The Committee shall liaison with all University schools and colleges and other appropriate campus offices for the purposes of encouraging, promoting, and coordinating interdisciplinary studies on a campus-wide basis. In addition, the Committee will develop and recommend changes in existing practices or regulations for the purpose of facilitating undergraduate interdisciplinary studies.
