Learning Outcome and Objectives

As a result of attending this training, learners will increase and enhance knowledge and competence on culturally appropriate, evidence-based strategies for supporting the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and quality improvement of human milk feeding in hospital settings. 
After viewing this presentation participants will be able to: 

  • Describe how to implement the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and the role of quality improvement and monitoring to improve breastfeeding/chestfeeding outcomes
  • Identify strategies to meet the needs of culturally, racially, and economically diverse populations
  • Explain the evidence-based strategies in hospital/birth settings to successfully support the establishment and maintenance of breastfeeding/chestfeeding
