What are SNAP & WIC Benefits? Am I eligible?

SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) is a federal program that provides eligible citizens, permanent residents and some foreign nationals with specific statuses with monthly cash assistance in the form of an benefits card that works like a credit card at grocery stores. Only certain food items can be purchased using this benefit.

WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) is a federal program that provides pregnancy women, new and breastfeeding mothers and children under age five with healthy food, breastfeeding support, nutrition education, and referrals to other helpful services.
