2024 Graduate Award Winners Announced

The Department of Economics is delighted to announce the recipients of its graduate awards for 2024. The awards were presented at the annual reception for graduate students, recognizing outstanding achievements in teaching and academic performance.

The Helen Horowitz Award, honoring the legacy of Professor Helen Horowitz, one of our university's most respected undergraduate teachers, is presented to graduate students who demonstrate exceptional teaching skills. 

This year's recipients are Zhendong Li, Tao Chen and Jaehak Lee. These students have shown remarkable dedication and skill in their teaching roles, embodying the high standards set by Professor Horowitz.

Each year, the Department of Economics recognizes a rising second-year PhD student who has demonstrated outstanding performance in the preliminary exams for microeconomics and macroeconomics. We are pleased to announce that this year's award goes to Xiaoao Liao. His exceptional performance in these challenging exams is a testament to their hard work and academic prowess.  

We extend our warmest congratulations to Zhendong, Tao, Jaehak, and Xiaoao for their remarkable achievements.
