About
Melanie Wilcox is an associate professor in the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology's Division of Counseling Psychology. She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University at Albany in 2015. Her research focuses on culturally and structurally responsive mental health care, racial and socioeconomic inequity in higher education, and racial and social justice broadly. She is currently President of APA Division 17, the Society of Counseling Psychology. She is also a licensed psychologist and board certified in counseling psychology, with clinical expertise in trauma, addiction, and LGBTQ+-affirming care.
