Ste 511 Chemical Mechanical Planarization - Fundamentals and Applications (1)
This course will provide an introduction to chemical mechanical planarization (CMP), fundamental understanding of interfacial processes in CMP, types and characteristics of consumables and CMP tools, and practical applications of CMP in semiconductor manufacturing. Selected aspects of CMP engineering practice, process control, productivity and cost considerations are also discussed.
Ste 663 Managing New Product Development (3)
The success of most firms depends on their ability to develop new products that meet market demand. This course introduces students to tools of new product development, from opportunity identification to concept generation and evaluation, prototyping and market testing. Various aspects of the product development process are studied in this course, pertaining to marketing, finance, design and manufacturing. Students apply what they have learned in discussion assignments, case studies, and in a group project where they will go step-by-step through the processes involved in developing a new product.
