Wendy Love Anderson is a historian of medieval Judaism, Christianity and Jewish-Christian relations - especially the bodies, ideas and identities that occupy the discursive space between Judaism and Christianity. Her first book, The Discernment of Spirits: Assessing Visions and Visionaries in the Late Middle Ages, explored the intellectual history of medieval efforts to validate revelatory experiences. Her most recent publications include “Rabbi Salomon and All Wise People: Nicholas of Cusa and the Mystical Complications of Jewish Authority," in Mystical Theology and Platonism in the Time of Cusanus (2023), and “Sympathy for Esau: Marat Kila’s Notes in a Supercommentary on Rashi,” at TheTorah.com. Prof. Anderson teaches courses including Jewish Civilization (AJST 150), Jews Among Muslims and Christians (AJST 253) and Issues in Medieval Jewish History (AJST 353).
