Sara's dissertation, " Cultural Knowledge and Identity Within Kitchen Spaces", explores the development and transmission of cultural identity and knowledge within kitchen spaces in the 18th and 19th century American world. She specifically researches the Mohawk and Hudson River Valleys of New York with an emphasis on food history and material culture, and the ways in which this history is developed and presented at modern historic sites.
