Bio
Dora B. Ramírez was born and raised in Colombia where she received her B. A. in Modern Languages (English and French) from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. She holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and a PhD in Hispanic Studies with a concentration in Spanish linguistics from the University at Albany.
Prior to joining the LLC department, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Skidmore College and later at Siena College where she taught Spanish language courses at different levels. She also taught courses on Latin American culture and Spanish for heritage speakers. Before teaching at the college level, she taught Spanish to children at a private school in Albany where she designed and implemented the curriculum for grades K to eighth.
