Quick Pitch Competition Concludes Research and Entrepreneurship Week

ALBANY, N.Y. (Nov. 16, 2023) — UAlbany hosted its 1st Annual Quick Pitch Competition, which was designed to simulate an elevator-style pitch by giving faculty, staff and students a chance to pitch their ideas in 90 seconds or less. Faculty, staff and students with product ideas, innovations, startups or just a desire to practice their presentation skills were offered the opportunity to present in front of a distinguished panel of Capital Region industry leaders and faculty members.

Panelists for the quick pitch competition included Konstantin Izvolsky, Director of Consulting & Training at Foresight Science & Technology, Kelly Reardon, Program Director for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at UAlbany and Sanjay Goel, professor and Chair, Information Security and Digital Forensics at the School of Business as well as Director of UAlbany’s Blackstone LaunchPad program.

The event was part of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair during the University’s Research and Entrepreneurship Week. The fair featured displays from the Small Business Development Center, the UAlbany Innovation Center, Innovate 518 (Capital Region Innovation Hot Spot), Office  for Innovation Development and Commercialization (Tech Transfer Resources), NSF I-Corps, Blackstone LaunchPadThe Research Foundation for The State University of New York (SUNY RF), NYS Center of Excellence in Nano-Electronics and Nano-Technology and the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center.
