‘University at Albany Week’ Airs on WAMC’s The Academic Minute
ALBANY, N.Y. (June 6, 2023) — Albany’s WAMC Northeast Public Radio aired five segments from UAlbany faculty members last week during “University at Albany Week” on The Academic Minute.
The Academic Minute features a two-and-a-half-minute segment each day, Monday through Friday, from professors at different colleges and universities around the world, keeping listeners abreast of what's new and exciting in higher education research.
University at Albany Week:
- Monday, May 29: Tracking Western Wildfire Smoke, featuring Bhupal Shrestha, New York State Mesonet
- Tuesday, May 30: Mental Health in Rural New York, featuring Brett Harris, School of Public Health
- Wednesday, May 31: The Fight Against Myotonic Dystrophy, featuring Andrew Berglund, The RNA Institute, College of Arts and Sciences
- Thursday, June 1: Collapse of Ancient Mayan Capital Linked to Drought, featuring Marilyn Masson, Department of Anthropology, College of Arts and Sciences
- Friday, June 2: Combating Lack of Diversity in STEM, featuring Rabi Musah, Department of Chemistry, College of Arts and Sciences
The Academic Minute airs on 70 NPR-affiliated stations in the United States and Canada and is also shared online via Inside Higher Education. It is hosted by Lynn Pasquerella, president of the Association of American Colleges and Universities, and produced locally by WAMC’s David Hopper.
