Paquita Davis-Friday Announced as New Dean of Massry School of Business

ALBANY, N.Y. — Paquita Davis-Friday was named dean of the Massry School of Business, Provost Carol Kim announced on Oct. 30, 2024. The new dean will take the helm effective Feb. 18, 2025.

Davis-Friday has been a faculty member at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business since 2006. Prior to that, she was on the faculty of the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Her academic leadership experience includes serving as senior associate dean and as the executive director of graduate programs.  She also served as interim dean of the Zicklin School of Business. 

Among her accomplishments in these roles are developing the first undergraduate business cooperative education program in New York City and overseeing the launch of the Zicklin Online MBA program. Davis-Friday has a prolific publication record with articles in several top journals and has professional experience in the private sector in the areas of accounting and finance.

Davis-Friday received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Michigan, earning a PhD in business administration and two master’s degrees, one in applied economics and the other in accounting. She also is a registered Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan.

Provost Kim welcomed Davis-Friday in a letter to campus, in which she also thanked everyone who participated in the search process led by School of Education Dean Virginia Goatley and University Libraries Dean Corey Hatch, as well as Kevin Williams for his service as interim dean of the Massry School of Business.
