Glorious Sunday: Two UAlbany Teams Earn NCAA Tournament Berths
One UAlbany sports team extended its sterling tradition and another began a new dramatic chapter, as the UAlbany field hockey and women’s soccer teams win America East titles, advancing both squads to the NCAA tournament. Field hockey beat Maine 2-0 and will play Boston College. Soccer triumphed over top-seed Hartford 2-1, and will face Penn State.

Latest Terrorist Attacks Demonstrate International Reach of ISIS
Coordinated terrorist attacks at six locations throughout Paris have left at least 129 people dead and 352 wounded. On Friday, Rockefeller College and the College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity co-host a forum on the attacks from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Lecture Center 3B.

UAlbany Aids in Building New York Crime Victims’ Legal Network
Partnering with the NYS Office of Victim Services, the University is helping to create an online tool that will connect crime victims with legal assistance in civil matters. Chemist’s Technique Can Identify a Fingerprint as Male or Female
A team of researchers led by UAlbany chemistry professor Jan Halámek has discovered a straightforward concept for identifying whether a culprit is male or female. It’s based on content in fingerprints – specifically amino acids. According to known literature, amino acid levels in the sweat of females are about twice as high as in males. -
