Simeon Ananou, D.Ed., a student-focused leader with an appreciation for campus communities, systems, processes and decisions driven by data analytics, take office on February 1. He comes from Salisbury University, where as CIO he managed strategic oversight of IT and communication infrastructure, academic information systems, and business intelligence.

University at Albany Celebrates Winter Commencement, December 6
Nearly 900 students are expected to earn their degrees from the University at Albany at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, during Winter Commencement at the SEFCU Arena. The University will present Larry Gold, chairman/founder of Somalogic and a member of UAlbany’s RNA Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board with an honorary degree. -

By the Numbers: More Than $450,000 Raised On ‘Giving Tuesday’
The University at Albany Foundation’s second annual “Giving Tuesday” campaign was met with historical success, thanks to the generosity of the entire University community. The year’s campaign saw 1,278 unique donors raise a total of $271,000 by the challenge’s completion. Another $207,000 was raised through challenge matches. -
