Resources for Graduate Students
Navigating the resources available to graduate students can be challenging. However, the University at Albany offers many resources to ensure a smooth transition into your graduate studies.
One valuable resource is the Graduate Student Association (GSA). The GSA is a student-run, non-profit governing body that provides resources for UAlbany graduate students and its workers. The GSA recognizes student-led organizations as Recognized Graduate Student Organizations (RGSO) and offers various services such as:
- Research and Professional Development Grants: Financial support for academic and professional growth.
- Social Events: Opportunities to connect with fellow graduate students and build a community.
- Student Advocacy: Representation on issues that matter to graduate students.
UAlbany also provides numerous academic resources to support your success. Some of these resources include but are not limited to:
- University Library Resources
- Workshops through the Center for the Advancement of Teach, Learning, and Online Education (CATLOE)
- The Writing Center
UAlbany’s Recreation and Wellness Center is a great resource for graduate students. The center offers a wide range of opportunities to enrich your physical and mental well-being. Whether you are looking to unwind after a long day or to connect with fellow students through recreational activities, the Recreation and Wellness Center is a valuable asset to enhancing your overall graduate experience.
For program specific inquiries, the Graduate School Satellite Office, located in Lecture Center 27, is an excellent resource for students. There you will be able to speak to graduate students who have gone through the process of applying and know about what it is like to be a graduate student on campus.
