Preparing the Next Generation of Writers
The University at UAlbany's Young Writers Project (YWP) hosts and promotes events, resources and mentoring opportunities that prepare UAlbany undergraduate students for professional writing and creative writing careers.
The Young Writers Program started in 2021, when the UAlbany Department of English's Creative Writing Committee was inspired by the Creative Writing Minor's success. The department partnered with writing faculty from across the University and the New York State Writers Institute to kickstart this initiative.
