Professor Gerald Marschke Appointed to National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council

We are proud to announce that Professor Gerald Marschke has been appointed to serve on the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council, a key advisory body to the National Institute of General Medical Sciences at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Professor Marschke began his three-year term in January 2025. In his role, he will provide expert guidance on policy and funding decisions.
Professor Marschke's research focuses on the economics of science, innovation, and labor markets, with a particular emphasis on the careers of scientists and the impact of funding policies on scientific productivity. He is expected to provide valuable economic perspectives and insights into biomedical research policy.
Professor Marschke will continue his teaching and research responsibilities at the university while serving on the council.
