ALBANY, N.Y. (Mar. 17, 2025) — This summer, teens will have the opportunity to experience college life through the University at Albany’s pre-collegiate summer camps. Featuring dozens of programs in fields such as technology, gaming, art, archaeology, and athletics, the new initiative is designed to help students explore options available to them after high school.
The camps — which begin July 7 and will be held at the University at Albany — are tailored to a variety of interests and encourage junior high and high school students to explore their passions, develop new skills, and get a head start on their academic and professional careers.
"UAlbany’s camps offer students a unique opportunity to engage with each other in a supportive and dynamic environment that fosters independence and exploration," said Ed Engelbride, associate vice president for student affairs and enrollment. "We are excited to introduce them to our campus and world-class resources, which can inspire their dreams for the future."
Offerings at UAlbany's pre-collegiate camps include:
- STEM camps: Students can participate in hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and math, with programs designed to challenge and inspire.
- Art and writing camps: Programs will ignite creativity through artistic expression and writing workshops, ideal for budding artists and storytellers.
- Other academic camps: Topics range from archaeology to specialized academic skills that sharpen young learners' minds.
- Athletic and esports camps: Teens can combine physical activity and digital gaming in an engaging, competitive environment.
