Virtual Homecoming is an ‘At-Home’ Affair
Homecoming has been re-imagined, with a virtual campus tour and special guests.
ALBANY, N.Y. (Oct. 1, 2020) — While in-person gatherings are on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic, UAlbany’s alumni community will be joining together for a Virtual Homecoming on Friday evening – a Homecoming at home. Stick around Saturday for Middle Earth’s 50th anniversary celebration.
The official homecoming program begins at 7 p.m. Friday, but you can log in at 6:45 for some pre-celebration videos on UAlbany’s YouTube channel. The program includes a virtual tour of campus and features President Havidán Rodríguez, some special alumni guests and musical performances from a Great Dane.

On Saturday, the Middle Earth Peer Assistance Program will celebrate its 50th anniversary with its own virtual reunion, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Zoom.
The program will include messages from President Rodríguez and Vice President for Student Affairs Michael Christakis, as well as past and present Middle Earth leaders – from founder Louis Ringe PhD ’71 to current student president Kassie Sturm ’21.
There also will be break-out sessions, a tour of the Health and Counseling Center, a photo and video gallery of Middle Earth through the years, and fundraising information.
