Introducing the 7th cohort of RNA Fellows
(May 7, 2021) - We are excited to announce the 7th cohort of RNA Fellows for the 2021-2022 academic year!
RNA fellows are selected from the four participating PhD programs (Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry and Nanobiosciences at SUNY Poly) based on outstanding performance. They are supported primarily by a training grant from NIH, and an allocation from the Dean of the Graduate School. The training program is run by The RNA Institute, which is housed in and sponsored by the UAlbany College of Arts and Sciences. These RNA fellows form a cohesive cohort that take an RNA-centric curriculum of courses and colloquia. They will also have the option to collaborate with the School of Business and the Writers Institute to gain experience in entrepreneurship and science writing, respectively. A full overview of the RNA Institute Doctoral Training Program can be viewed here.
The announcement was celebrated on May 7th with a lunch in the Life Sciences Research Building courtyard attended by the Fellows, their Mentors, Drs. Marlene Belfort and Tom Begley, co-directors of the program, Dr. Andy Berglund, Director of the RNA Institute and Dr. Kevin Williams, Dean of the Graduate School.
