Professional Interests
Natalie’s professional interests lie in creating healthy communities for young adults, just like the ones at UAlbany. Currently, Natalie helps coordinate efforts focused on alcohol and other drug harm reduction, health promotion, and peer education. Natalie is the director of Project SHAPE, a group of peer educators who provide sexuality and sexual health education to the UAlbany community.
Approach to Public Health
To achieve the Office of Health Promotion's goals, Natalie employs a public health approach that will affect the whole community. Environmental programs help to make healthy decisions easier, without the priority population realizing it is happening, and universal programs, such as screening, are applied to everyone so that no one is left out.
Approach to Wellness
Natalie’s approach to wellness includes a balance of many things. Though she loves to exercise, cook and eat healthy, there is still room for sweets and a Netflix-binge here and there. In addition, Natalie is sure to make time for herself, whether it be seeing friends and family, traveling or hanging around Albany.
