Digital Badge for Librarians as Second Responders

Libraries are vital sources of social infrastructure and librarians have served as second responders during times of disaster or social unrest. In this course, you learn how to provide necessary and valuable services to your community during times of crisis.

You will develop an emergency response and reopening plan to demonstrate your ability to provide continuity of operations when interruptions take place.

This course consists of a 6-hour (1-day) training on the need for librarians as second responders following disaster with topics including crisis management and continuation of operations.

You will complete a pre- and post-assessment to judge your knowledge and create a sample emergency plan relevant to your current institution by implementing new techniques learned in the training.
