Supplemental Support Services

Supporting Greatness, through thick and thin

Supplemental Support Services helps the Great Dane community navigate tough issues and access the support they need on campus.

We respond to reports of concern for UAlbany students, administer the campus food pantry and professional clothing closet, and manage emergency grant funds.

Report a Concern
Report concern for a student, report another kind of issue and explore UAlbany's support services.
Purple Pantry
The pantry is stocked with food and toiletries. It's open to all current UAlbany students, faculty and staff.
Off-campus Food Assistance
Determine if you meet student eligibility requirements for federal feeding programs, such as SNAP and WIC. Find additional off-campus food pantries and meal sites.
Purple Threads
Current students can choose three free pieces of professional clothing each semester.
Student Emergency Fund
These grants support students who experience an unforeseen financial hardship or emergency.

Homelessness Liaison

Assistant Dean of Students Sally D'Alessandro serves at UAlbany's Homelessness Liaison. She can be reached at 518-442-5501 or via email at [email protected].

The Homelessness Liaison meets with students who are currently unhoused or housing insecure and assesses each student's ability to meet their basic needs.

The Homelessness Liaison also provides referrals to all on- and off-campus resources for which each student may be eligible to ensure that, at minimum, they have a safe place to live and sleep and enough food to meet their nutritional needs.
