About the Fellows Program
The Fellows Program is designed to:
- Create awareness of and appreciation for professionally-related post-retirement contributions and achievements by UAlbany Emeriti, including faculty, professional staff, and administrators
- Confer appropriate honor to UAlbany Emeriti for sustained, consequential, and exemplary professionally-related post-retirement contributions and achievements.
- Nurture the development of strong and mutually supportive relationships between Emeriti and UAlbany
Nomination
To submit a nomination, email your nomination materials, as well as any questions about the Fellows Program, to [email protected].
Nomination materials include:
- A CV or other record of accomplishment
- A letter of nomination or self-nomination, addressing the Board of the Emeritus Center, describing the significance of the contribution or achievement that is the basis for the Fellows Award
- Materials (e.g., books, articles, syllabi, etc.); announcements, reviews, or notices; or other evidence of achievements related to your nomination
Announcement of the William L. Reese Memorial Fellows Award soliciting nominations should be distributed annually by November 1.
Nominations for the Fellows Award should be received by January 31.
All UAlbany Emeriti are eligible for nomination, including faculty, administrators and professional staff.
Nominees should be Emeriti with substantial contributions and/or achievements in the following domains:
- Scholarly/Creative Productions
- Teaching, in or outside the university
- Service, in or outside the university
- Notable accomplishments in other venues (awards, recognitions, etc.
A selection committee will be appointed through action of the Board of the Emeritus Center. The selection committee will review nominations and make recommendations to the Board of the Emeritus Center. Decisions by the Emeritus Board should be made annually by March 31.
Award Presentation
- Fellows are awarded a $500 honorarium
- Fellows are invited to give a presentation regarding their work in the Emeritus Center’s speakers’ series
- Generally, up to two awards may be made annually
