The Liberty Partnerships Rising Stars Program (LPRSP) at the University at Albany supports the academic, career, social and emotional needs of youth and encourages them to complete their secondary education.
LPRSP collaborates with the City School District of Albany (CSDA), community-based organizations and local businesses to promote academic achievement, leadership, socio-emotional well-being and civic engagement among youth.
The program serves youth in grades six through 12 within the CSDA and provides in-school services at Albany High School, North Albany Middle School, William S. Hackett Middle School, and Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School.
Since it was established in 1992, LPRSP has grown to currently serve 300 students.
Mission: The Liberty Partnerships Rising Stars Program encourages young people in grades six to 12 to achieve academic and personal excellence by promoting strong relationships, inspiring positive self-esteem and empowering youth to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Vision: “For our youth, for our future.”
