About

We are surrounded by monuments of our success. For that great monument to Cyber Systems- the foundation has been laid. The analysis of Cyber Risks has never been more important for researchers and practitioners than in today's world marked by complexities and rapid innovation. And the many failed scenarios in Cyber Systems have provided plenty of hard-earned lessons for those who are willing to learn. Ariel Pinto has taken the task to be a custodian of these hard-earned lessons in Cyber Risks; a purveyor of future's innovative solutions to today's emerging problems; a bridge between those who came before and those who will follow.

Ariel Pinto is a Fulbright awardee, innovator, author, research director, and mentor. Previously, he was in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University (Norfolk, VA, USA), a visiting scientist at FM Global, a research fellow at the Software Industry Center at Carnegie Mellon University, and at the Center for Risk Management of Engineering Systems at the University of Virginia. Ariel has written textbooks, journal articles, and presented numerous times in the subject of Risk for both academics and practitioners. He earned his doctorate degree in Systems and information Engineering from the University of Virginia and master's and bachelor's degrees in industrial engineering from the University of the Philippines.
