Classified Vacancies: New York State Civil Service vacancies may require an applicant to take and pass an appropriate Civil Service examination to qualify for employment. Most classified positions are represented by one of the following unions:

Federal Work-Study Vacancies
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study.

Cleary Act
UAlbany and the University Police Department (UPD) strive to promote and maintain a campus environment conducive to academic achievement.
The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or Clery Act, mandates that all Title IV institutions, without exception, prepare, publish and distribute an Annual Security Report.
This report consists of two basic parts: disclosure of the University's crime statistics for the past three years, and disclosures regarding the University's current campus security policies.
