About

I’m a third year undergraduate student studying Microbiology at the University of Maine, who hopes to work in a hospital lab. I’m working for the Berglund lab to study repeat expansion diseases, like Huntington’s and Myotonic Dystrophy. To do this, I’m performing qPCR on cells expressing Huntington’s that have been treated with small molecules known to reduce the effects of DM1, in the hopes that these drugs will similarly negate Huntington’s. I’m skilled in isolation of nucleic acids, gel electrophoresis, restriction digest analysis, and data analysis.
