About Women in Science and Health (WISH)

WISH is an organization of women faculty at University at Albany that fosters scientific networking and provides skill-building opportunities for students, postdocs and faculty in the STEM fields to promote gender equality and work-life balance.

WISH was established in 2014 by Elga Wulfert, Professor of Psychology and former Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Marlene Belfort, Professor of Biology and Scientific Director of the interdisciplinary Life Sciences Initiative.

Building Resilience & Well-being in Academia on September 16
Building Resilience & Well-being in Academia will feature Dr. Sharon Milgram, Director, Office of Intramural Training and Education for the National Institutes of Health. The event, hosted by WISH, will take place on September 16 at 1 p.m. in the D'Ambra Auditorium, Life Sciences Research Building.

Women Collaborating for Inclusion Scheduled for April 3
Women Collaborating for Inclusion: Race, Ethnicity and Gender will feature Dr. Kay Johnson-Winters, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington. The event, hosted by WISH, will take place on April 3 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Life Sciences Research Building, Room 1143. Guests are asked to RSVP to [email protected] by Monday March 25th.
