Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is the perfect game to wind down to at the end of a stressful day. You start out in a scene where you are in an office. You're sick of city life and want something more. You come across a letter from your dearly departed grandpa and in that letter he gives you his farm in Stardew Valley. The farm could use a bit of work but in a matter of months you can be thriving! There are so many unique character and events in this game. The pixel art style adds so much charm to it. The creator of Stardew Valley has put out so many free updates for the game as well. This game has one of the nicest fan bases and some fans have even modded the game to add more to it.Whether it's delving into the mines for some ore, romancing the towns folk, trying to catch every kind of fish, or simply building up your farm, this game has a little something for everybody!I frequently go back to this game whenever I need a break from everyday life. The best part is it's available on every current system, even mobile! Try a relaxing farm getaway today!
Undertale
Undertale is a game that really took me by surprise. Going into this game it is better if you don't know any of the specifics. This game is unlike any other game I've played Going into the game blind really helps it reach the full impact. This game is rated 10+ but I would definitely recommend playing it when you are at least 14 so you can understand every small joke in the game. What I can say, without spoiling the game, is that you are a human who has fallen into where the monsters live. You will encounter many different monsters on your adventure to try to get back home. I feel the primary way to play this game is on PC because there are some later parts that aren't as effective to me on the console versions.Though if console is the only way you can play I would still recommend playing! I'd just say to play it again on PC if the opportunity arises! The video above is a short clip of me talking about undertale while giving as few spoilers as I can. I hope you play the game and enjoy it!
Celeste
Celeste is a challenging platformer game. The early levels of the game aren't too hard but as you progress the game gets progressively harder. I can't imagine watching somebody who speedruns this game. When I say it is challenging that is no joke. Unlike Stardew Valley I would NOT suggest this as a game to relax to. You will get frustrated, you will spend a lot of hours on some parts just doing the same thing over and over. But it will feel so satisfying when you finally make it past that part. It's that drive and urge to complete the puzzles and challenges placed before you that will get you through this game. Plus the game touches on mental health topics which is always something that I love to see as someone who struggles with their mental health. This game is a struggle and, sometimes, so is life but isn't that why life can be so beautiful sometimes? Knowing that we work through even our toughest days makes us stronger and I believe playing this game has made me stronger too. This game can be found on all current consoles (except for PS5 and Xbox One X).
